Good afternoon all,

I'm new here, did my intro and now am ready to learn a little more about my Peking's. I have 4, 1 male and 3 female and they have been a pleasure to take care of and fun to watch. I purchased them in March last year and the females have been very good layers, 3 a day, until recently. I noticed that my one female has been brooding sitting on two eggs starting about 3 weeks ago and the other two have slowed egg production. I did find a few in the pond we have for them or under the side of the pool, but production has been down.
Is it common for these ducks to brood? I didn't think it was.
Will the other ducks slow production because of this?
I did a candle test of the eggs and noticed veins and it is hard to tell is there is actually a duckling in there. The one post says that the incubation time is 28 days for these ducks so I guess we'll see.
Anybody else have this type of issue?

Broodiness can happen with all Hens...Just some breeds are more prone to brood than others....Yes...28 days from the day she started setting...Meaning the day she decided to stay on the nest....count 24 hours later as day one....
