"My Pet Chicken" is it trustworthy? *POST YOUR CHICKS FROM MPC!*

I am late to reply to this old thread, but my experience wasn't the best. Customer service was friendly. But of the 5 chicks I ordered, one died (bantam leghorn - the whole reason I went with MPC), and two ended up being cockerels (golden laced polish and a silkie). I have two easter eggers left. So, I paid over $60 for two chicks, but I do have a credit for one free standard hen and 2 free bantam hens. I still have to pay for shipping again if I do another order. Ouch. At the time, I felt that customer service by the end of it all had been good, so I felt bad asking for a refund instead of a credit. Now I wish I had just gotten my money back.

I was wondering if i could ask a question about MPC since i was considering buying from them. I was wondering how their fertile hatching eggs were, since that is what Im wanting to buy. Are their eggs as good as their chicks?

you are correct they do not get a supply from meyer but they do rent a hatching spot at the facility, just ask and also they are the best quality you will get from hatchery they have a blood line mot of them

I have ordered from them and they were great....very good about notifications and answering questions AND the chicks (I only ordered 8) arrived healthy and did well.

I've been tending to chickens four years now and I've certainly learned a lot, first of all it really doesn't matter where you get the chicks as long as you give them the proper supplements and advantages so they can grow to be strong and healthy. I've ordered 4 different flocks from my pet chicken all reasonably small (4-6 chicks) and they have done well sex the chicks right and get them in alive. Of 22 chicks I've only had one that arrived sickly and died short after. If you're going to have chickens I suggest you really research them I discovered how little I knew about my chickens very quickly and there are so many cheap and easy preventives for them. I've made an effort now to make sure that all of my chicks have electrolytes available (I put it in a hamster water bottle, they love it), as well as grit so they can digest their food to the best of their abilities.
