My Pet Chicken? What do you think??? PICS PLEASE!

I've ordered from them a few times and I like that they can send only 3 chicks and have a very big variety of breeds and sex bantams, but the sexing on my silver spangled hamburg was wrong in my last order and I'm starting to think that the cuckoo marans pullet that I ordered is a boy... and in my last order I got a salmon faverolles chick that died in a few days. However, they do have very good customer service and they refund and give credit for chicks if mistakes are made.

We ordered from my pet chicken and all of the chicks were alive and healthy. i dont have pics of them yet but will post the pics when i take them. i ordered campines and cornish.

I love MPC. Their website is very user friendly unlike most of the hatcheries I've looked at. I ordered their female special last fall and am placing another order either today or tomorrow for a few breeds I didn't get as well as some silkies.

While they do offer sexing for bantams, after a few other threads about it I came to the conclusion that the risk to the chick and the extra cost just wasn't worth it for pet quality chickens. Not to mention that even though they've been sexed it's much harder to be accurate so the risk that they are the wrong sex is higher. I decided to just order more of my silkies and take my chances that I would end up with one white female.

Let me see if I have some pictures... Oh, didn't lose any of the 26 (sent an extra female) they were all healthy and happy chickies.

Grrr, can't get my pictures to work right now. I'll try again later.

ETA They have excellent customer service as well, corresponded several times via email and they were very helpful and friendly.

I ordered 4 chicks from MPC. The EE was DOA, the BO was sick, but survived. That could happen from shipped chicks anywhere. The best thing about MPC is the sexed chicks. Now that I'm "addicted," I'm getting hatching eggs from breeders. After I ordered most of my stuff online, it turns out there are a lot local places (as in 5-10 minutes) from my house that have supplies and even chicks (in Los Angeles), that are much cheaper. If you don't care whether they're from a reputable breeder or not, I would call the local feedstore, hardware store, petstores, etc and see what they have first. Those places get them from hatcheries or local farms.

this is all very good to hear, i'm thinking of ordering some chicks from there myself
