My Plymouth Rock hen is making broody noises but she is not interested in sitting on eggs.

My Barred Plymouth Rock hen, Maya, is making broody noises (that weird gluck, gluck, gluck sound) but she hasn't been in or around the nest boxes all day! even when it was FULL of eggs! I don't know if she is broody and not just interested in eggs or she is just making these noises.

I don't know anything in this subject (as my little pullets arn't grown and I'm definitely no eggpert) but I'm sure someone will come along soon and enlighten you . BYC is the best place for chicken questions and the community here is amazing!

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
My current broody started doing just what you are describing: just walking around with that ticking time bomb 'cluck, cluck, cluck' but not sitting. She was still laying eggs. That was about 6 weeks ago. 4 days ago she went full tilt broody. I imagine yours is thinking about it. And in this heat, it's one tough thing to break.
