My polebarn smells like a zoo...just wanted to share

I am new here, but not to poultry. I wanted to do meat chickens as well as more layers this year; somehow I ended up with 25 chicks, six ducklings, and three bronze turkey poults in my pole barn workshop. Unfortunately it is still to cold here to even think about moving them outside any time soon. Why do we do this to ourselves HaHa.

Hello and Welcome To BYC! I am not sure, I find myself asking myself the same question every year about this time... TSC and mail order hatcheries are to blame. Good luck with the chicks/ducklings/goslings, hope the weather cooperates and spring finally decides to arrive so you can get all the birds outside.

Ha ha ha!! I guess we do it for the love of the chicken!! We whine and complain about how much work it is, how we can never go on vacation, and there we are....scooping chicks out of the feed store bins!!!!

Just an addiction we all need an intervention for.

Mike, would you like an intervention???....LOL...Quail are addicting! The Coturnix are especially addicting because they mature so fast, you can have them laying, in no time, or use them for meat so quick like! Enjoy your new birds!
