I live in Colorado and my Polish chicken (Mo) has started suddenly loosing all her feathers and in practically only three days, she’s lost all her usually HUGE tail feathers and has patches of bare skin, I didn’t want to pick her up and take pictures because when I do a bunch more feathers fall out, here’s a few photos

How old is she?
If she's 14-18 months old it's just a molt.
Assuming you live in the northern hemisphere.
Some molt fast and hard, others go slower.

Thanks for responding! She’s about three and the other chicken have not started molting yet, it’s the first year she’s done this, they’re all free- range and she rarely gets pecked anymore.

She’s around 3 and hasn’t ever done this before, the other chicken have not started molting yet and I find piles of her feathers EVERYWHERE.

:welcome Sounds/looks like a massive molt. Monitor to make sure flock mates do not start plucking the pin feathers.

@The Coop Crew 18 weeks or months?
Weeks. I read that they go through a molt around 20-22 weeks. Is that not correct? It’s just small bald patches on the front of the neck so that’s what I assumed it was from. I see now that my comment didn’t make any sense in relation to the post 😅🤣 I had minimal sleep when I posted that haha. Maybe I should avoid BYC when I’m too tired to function 🤣
