I was under the impression they were full-grown.

I wanted to show his crest because from the front and side view it looks like a lot of blue but the blue is just at the front of his crest. Tell me what ya'll think:)

Just let me know when you want eggs, and I'll ship 'ya some!

He's a pretty roo. If he's only 6 months old, his crest feathers will probably still do quite a bit of growing. He doesn't have that much blue in his crest...keep in mind, too, that all those pretty pictures of birds in show coops with just a few colored feathers in the front? We pluck 'em.

Those birds are groomed to look like that. It's nice to breed for less color in the crest, but shape and size of the crest is more important. You don't want an uneven crest or a split crest. Nice and poofy and round, not split in a pullet. Nice and upwards in the front and long and flowing in the back for a roo. As young as he is, his crest could grow to nearly twice that length in another 6 months or so. When that happens, that blue in the front is going to look a lot less obvious.

Thanks Crunchie you have been a lot of help. Right now I have some eggs (from him and those two pullets) in the bator and they are going to hatch on Saturday. I want to pick the best pullets out of them. I am needing though another rooster to keep from inbreeding. So I will let you know Thanks again.
