Some of My 5 wk old chicks have discolored combs, and their beaks seem to have gotten really dark and one just seems lethargic what could be wrong?

Hello,
I am a new member as well and new to raising chickens.
I have 4 girls and they will be 2 months old this Friday.
I have had the girls since they were 3 days old they are all
different breeds. I too noticed the beaks changes colors,
combs looked light and legs started changing color.
I really don't think there is anything wrong with your babies.
They grow so quickly and every day I can see them changing.
Matter of fact my Barred Rock's comb is fnnally turning a deeper red
as it has been pink. Good Luck with your chicks and yes they are babies!

I don't notice anything wrong in your photo. Chicks start out with pale pink combs - as they develop they get redder especially in young cockerels which is one way to determine set. Pullets approaching point of lay, will get darker red combs and around the face.

So I've lost 5 of my babies since i posted this the one in the pic died yesterday afternoon. figured out that it was Cocci and started treatment on the rest of the babies and on the 8-10 week babies too now i"m just watching and waiting.
