My poor chicken

This is a photo of my Chicky who's comb is gone. I feel so bad for her. I had a hard time finding her in my backyard just minutes ago. She'd normally come running to greet me for a treat but not today. She's panting through her beak and seems to have made a nest. Maybe to lay an egg ? I'll keep a close eye on her an see if she lays 1. If not I'll give her a sits bath in warm water and some extra calcium. Any advise welcomed !!! Thanks CherylView attachment 1518869

You said that happened recently? That looks thoroughly healed, and clean enough that it also looks like someone with scissors did it. I'm confused.

It's been a couple weeks now. I saw my hens pecking away at her and they've been together for 3yrs. They were just hatchlings when I got them. They are New Hampshire Reds. I've been keeping her in the backyard by herself so they don't do anymore damage to her. There's no way someone took scissors to her. I'm kind of confussed to as to how this happened but I'm pretty sure the others did this to her

Can you post a picture? Whenever I have had a chicken who was becoming weak and dying, the other chickens would peck them and make combs bleed. She may be sick, so I would do a thorough exam of her crop, her droppings, feel her breastbone for weight loss, check her lower belly for swelling, look her over for mites and lice.

I agree that separating her in a dog crate with food and water, but leaving her with the others is best. Then when she is heling, supervise some visits out in the yard in the evenings before they go in to roost.

She doesn't appear to be sick and she's eating. Her poop looks normal and she's laying an egg every other day. When I let the others out to free range with her they start pecking on her especially 1. So I put her in my front yard by herself so the others can have the backyard for a few hours. This seems to be the best solution for now.

I have a bantam Cochin pullet who was pecked by another bird and it separated the back of her comb.
It healed but the back part sticks up at a weird angle now.
Your hen looks like she’s all healed up from that photo.
Here’s my girl Cricket. You can kind of see the back piece of skin on her comb sticking up.

I'm happy your chicken is healed up. Mine is looking much better except for a scab on top her head where her comb use to be. It's really hot and humid here at the beach so she breathes through her mouth most the time. Doesn't the comb help cool them ?

Yes it does.
What breed is she?
As long as she has shade to go into where she can lay down when it’s really hot she should be okay.
Sometimes I will use the hose and wet the grass and dirt to provide a cool place for them.
Some birds act scared of little puddles and others learn to stand in them to cool off.
