My poor dog *New pics page 9*

I'm so glad she is doing okay. I'll keep sending prayers your way. Maybe someday the mystery will be solved as to what actually happened to her. Until then , just be proud she is still with you.

Poor doggie! Is there any chance she climbed a wire fence? It looks to me similar to a wound a horse gets when tangled in stock fence wire. I wonder if she climbed fencing and her leg slipped through and she hung from the fence wire for awhile?

I too trap and am experienced with snares and foot holds (coil springs), it looks like neither.

I'm glad she is doing okay. It will take a little time for her to adjust but, then she will be able to get around just fine.

Thank goodness surgery went well and she is doing so good. They are amazingly animals with such strong hearts and spirits. Pat her head and tell her we are all waiting to see pics of her chasing her favorite ball soon.

I'm so sorry this awful thing happened. Poor Hope. Sending many good wishes for her speedy recovery and much brighter days ahead.

If someone illegally trapped on your property and caused this situation, I hope that they can be caught and made accountable. Hopefully some friends can help scour the area to make sure no threats of any kind remain; I would be happy to help were I in your neck of the woods.

Her "leg" area is very red and swollen and has bled a little, but the vet said it was normal, but to keep an eye on it.
Due to the horrible & serve weather we have been having here in Missouri, the conservation officer hasnt been able to come out and check the land yet, but he will as soon as we get some ok weather.
Hope is such a strong girl, she has been through so much in her short 3 years. First, she was dumped off on the side of the road as a puppy, and once she was able to get tested she heartworms(7 months), it came back postive, so we had her treated for that and now this.(She got heartworms as a puppy before we got her, and even though we gave her heartguard, she already had them) She has been nothing be sweet and calm durning all of this. Even though she had a rough start, she loves people and has never once barked, growled or tried to bite a person.

Sending Hope some love ! Yes it will take a short while for the swelling to go down, I've seen several dogs that have had this done (used to work at a Vets office & at the Humane Society), most dogs do great in this situation. They adapt very well. She will be up & around in no time. Just give her all the love & support you can. Keep us posted PLEASE. She seems like a very sweet girl.

BTW.. Thanks for the updates.
