Hey guys,
So I'm new to raising duck and hoping that someone can help me with a problem that I'm having. I have seven ducks total 4 Pekins (3 female, 1 male) and 3 Mallards (2 female, 1 male). Okay so one of our female mallards (Molly) is getting beat up by all the ducks... mostly the male pekin. He mates with her more than the rest and while he does the other Pekins will peck at her face so now she has an eye sore that we are constantly needing to clean and treat. We've separated her while she heals but I feel bad separating her by herself. Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do? Do I keep her separated permanently? Or do I need to get rid of the drake since I don't really need him for fertilization... I don't want to give him to a new home where he might end up as someone else's dinner either. I know that it's just nature for the pekin to act this way but I can't let her continue living this way..

Separate your Pekin drake rather than your mallard hen... unfortunately, Pekins are too large for mating mallards... I would look into rehoming him or keeping the 2 flocks permanently separate otherwise she may get injured much worse...

That's what I was thinking I was going to hear... I'll look into rehoming the drake. Thanks for the advice
