I think what I wanna do, is I'm gonna order Sumatra chicks. If I get a Sumatra roo, I want to cross it on a few of these F2 chicks I have hatching today. I also wanna cross these F2 chicks back to their dad.

I would also like to cross the Sumatra rooster on a liege fighter hen. Then I will breed the chicks from that cross into my Indio mix genepool

I just had a new hatch from my bielefelder/Indio mix rooster, Goliath. I got a barred chick, several black chicks, a chipmunk chick, two of these chocolatey looking ones, and a white one. The white one is a bit special, however, because I think it is a silver based white and not a dominant white based on.

So, I am gonna cross my blue based mutt hen with Goliath. Mainly for color, cause I can get more blues. I'm hoping I get a few blue barreds out of them.

So, I unfortunately had to put the "big chicken" project on hold, because out of 14 chicks, they only one was female. I instead plan to add pure indio gigantes to the flock next year

Ok, the project is back on. I am maybe getting a pure IG rooster, who is also the father of my current half-IG roo. I have three pullets, who are 25% IG and the granddaughters of the pure. I will cross them back to him.

I'm gonna start breeding d'uccles! My female is just a pet quality porcelain, but my male is straight from the Vaughns, which have the best line of d'uccles in the country. I plant to breed them, then cull the current female and cross some pullets back to their dad (to further improve quality) and cross brother to sister for more porcelains
