Along with the d'uccles, next year I will be breeding black Ameraucana, Sicilian buttercups, and modern games in birchen, BBR, and blue. Plus I will be working on making blue reds

I'm gonna start breeding d'uccles! My female is just a pet quality porcelain, but my male is straight from the Vaughns, which have the best line of d'uccles in the country. I plant to breed them, then cull the current female and cross some pullets back to their dad (to further improve quality) and cross brother to sister for more porcelains
Like I said, its a pretty stupid idea. But hey, I'm a pretty stupid person.Ok guys, I have another stupid project idea that probably won't happen for at least 5 years: I call them the woolies. So basically, I am going to try to make "regular" type chickens that have silkied feathers. When I say "regular" I mean just a generic chicken (with the exception of feathering). Single comb, Standard sized, good dual purpose bird that is pretty hardy. Silkies are cool, but are too fragile and don't have good production qualities. I want to try to breed away from most of the common silkie traits; crests, feathered feet, black skin, etc. Lucky for me, on my local FB Chicken page, I always see people with crappy "silkies" that are single combed, or don't have crests, so those would be good base birds.

Idea is good.@MysteryChicken thoughts?
Oh ok. I would still kind of like to do this project, just to breed more towards productions qualities, and colorIdea is good.
But, first of all only the highly geneticly restrictive American Show silkies are fragile. Not because of poor genetic diversity, but due to the Vaulted Skulls.
The silkies you callare not that. Single combs are a Recessive trait, so they're likely to pop up if birds of a particular line carries a copy. Also no crest isn't a bad thing. I raise Chinese Silkies which are largefowl, & vary in appearance, since they're more like a landrace breed.
