I keep my king quails outside, but it doesn't get very cold here.

Unfortunately, no matter how much research is done, there's still plenty of things we have to learn from experience (in my case, how far quails fly). I spent about a year researching about quails before I got them, but there was still so many things I had to learn the hard way.
