my quail are making weird noises like a dog whimping

Hi again,

One of my quail started making noises like dog whimpering. Are they sick or hungry? They are given plenty of gamebird feed and I clean daily. Whats wrong with my birds? I also have seen one of them pecking or Drinking! at their droppings too. I just hope my quail are not sick

I don't know about that noise but perhaps you might give them vitamins and crushed oyster shells. If they are picking at droppings they might need something they are not getting. I also give mine greens either salad greens or misc. greens with seeds from my field/yard.

Also, go on youtube and watch some quail videos which will let you hear what noises they are supposed to make... maybe it's normal....
