Thanks for asking! I am not sure yet about breeds. I really like Buff Orpingtons because they're so docile, but whatever lives here has to be able to stand the rain. Portland gets a lot of wet in the winter and my area of town also is prone to wind that moves through the Columbia Gorge.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Already last night I sat up with my tablet, looking and reading about some of the coops posted on the forums. Those ideas/.plans/pics going to be a huge help when I get ready to build mine; I already know I'm NOT going to spend $ on ready-made "coops" at online stores like tractor supply or Amazon!
