and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.
to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!
Thanks for asking! I am not sure yet about breeds. I really like Buff Orpingtons because they're so docile, but whatever lives here has to be able to stand the rain. Portland gets a lot of wet in the winter and my area of town also is prone to wind that moves through the Columbia Gorge.Welcome to Backyard Chickens!
What breed are you planning to keep?

Thanks for the warm welcome! Already last night I sat up with my tablet, looking and reading about some of the coops posted on the forums. Those ideas/.plans/pics going to be a huge help when I get ready to build mine; I already know I'm NOT going to spend $ on ready-made "coops" at online stores like tractor supply or Amazon!Hiya, and welcome to BYC!
Congratulations on your retirement! Many of us are retired, myself included. Isn't it grand?
Since I presume you'll be building your new coop, be sure to drop by our Coop forum for ideas. Some of our members have included copious notes about how they built theirs.
We're glad you're here!
About a year from now I'll let y'all knowWelcome to Backyard Chickens!
