I let one of my Coturnix roos out to roam around my house today and witnessed with my own eyes it gobbling down part of a popped balloon. Why it would think the balloon could possibly be food is beyond me. I feed them a lot so it could not have been because he was starving. Will it pass through his digestive system and be fine, or does he need to have it removed? I think it was about an inch long. I really need to sweep before letting my quail out.... D:

It should pass. At this point no one could remove it anyway. Think of chickens or quail the same as goats. If they can eat it they will eat it. My sister used to wear these flip flops with bells on them...until one of her chickens snatched one off and died. They will eat whatever fits down their cake hole.
