Took the old coop on the farm I bought, gutted it, cleaned it and remodeled. My girls love it and they have a big yard with a shade tree.

Wow!!Wow!!Wow!! You did a Fantastic job. Excellent as a matter of fact. Beautiful nesting boxes GREAT interior. Did you put down linoleum on the floor. I kept showing my husband each picture LOL. He just gave me ‘that’ look ya know? I love you kept the rustic outside. Well Done:love

Yes, i did put linoleum down that looks like wood grain. Easier to clean.

Looks great, I too love the outside rustic look ,
the roosting ladder rungs look very narrow? How big are nesting box holes ?
Lots of ventaltion , where are you ? Nowhere cold I hope

Have fun
And I’ll take 50 dozen 25 cent eggs please then I’ll sell them for 3 bucks

Well, i am in north east TN, the top front window opens as well as a back one with great airflow when its hot , as well as vents at the top (front and back for when it has to be closed up).
Im about to rebuild and reposition the roost with poop board but they seem to rest quite nice on the existing ones.
They seem to have no problems with their nesting boxes as red stars and rocks are nowhere near the size of the brahma hens i once had.
Cold? How does a week or two at a time below freezing sound? Lol!
Our winters are anywhere from mild to brutal but i have electricity in the coop for heat lamps and keeping water thawed.
I did a bunch of research before i ever got my first little run of 4 red stars to try out about three years ago and managed to keep them healthy and happy.
I now have a flock of fifteen i raised from chics.
I am by no means an authority but i don’t halfway do anything.
I’m always open to suggestions though if anyone sees a way to do something better. After all, that’s how we learn.
Thanks
