yup - that's what we had. poor chicken! is yours young? ours was. Never did it again, but still lays giant eggs.

just a new layer issue for them to work out the kinks, and that usually only happens once in a while. If it keeps happening then keep a closer eye on the chicken laying them like that as it can be a reproductive disorder.
