So My hubby & I have one roo, three ducks, 4 eggs incubating, and 2 RIR, 1 silkie, 6 leghorns, for a total of 9 pullets. So my mom comes for a visit, and I have to buy some feed. I tell my mom she needs to keep me in check at the store, because I can't ever seem to go into the store and come home without buying more chickens.

So we go into the store, I order my feed, and notice i'm minus a mother! I go looking for her, and there she is ordering chicks!

So she says it's only one or two!! I'm like ok then I can handle one or two more.

We get to our house, I open the box, and inside there is.....

2 leghorns
2 turkeys
3 crested ducks
4 orpingtons
1 RIR
2 barred rocks
4 americana's

ONE OR TWO!?!?!?!?!!! REALLY!?

Oh and then we have to go BACK the next day since one of the chicks died, and today I come home with a new chick to replace the dead one, and a full grown polish rooster!!! OMG So now it's coop time I guess, lol:th

I almost forgot!!! Now that we have such a universal flock, will the polish roo breed all of them, or are there certain breeds he will and will not breed?

I hear ya! I took me months to talk my DH into "letting" me have chickens - i promised him only 6...well, no more than 10...PROMISE. Well, last month he pointed out an ad on Craigslist and we brought home 9 more, and just last week i came home from work and found him firing up the incubator for a dozen eggs a friend had given him. NOW who doesnt have any restraint?

I'm not allowed to go to appointments to view chickens without my husband anymore...experience has taught us---no way will I come home without something new!!

Your Polish rooster will breed with ANYTHING, just like all roosters do; I had a Silver Seabright rooster that would perform gymnastic feats in his attempts to fertilize the RIR hens---he never was successful, but he scored a "10" for effort...
