my Roo has lost his voice

my singl comb brown/game roo was crowing every morning with no problem. this morning he sounds like he has larengitis.... is this normal or does he need some cough syrup?
 
I would like to hear the answer to this one...
mine has always sounded pitiful.
Frankly I hope mine never gets loud and just gives up on the idea of being a noisey roo because if it becomes a pest...it will be dinner for someone.

i have 3 roo's that can crow. 1 sounds off non-stop 1 thts just getting his voice and then this one who is losing his
