My roo loves me

Ok I am not sure if he loves me but when I go out with the chickens my favorelle Leroy always comes over to me generally a foot or so and picks ups sticks and pieces of grass and talks to me. All the while looking at me out of the corner of his eye and talking. am I his special girl? ha ha. I swear he knows his name if I say hey leroy he will crow or come over to the edge of the fence. I just love this guy he will not be supper.

I think he is challenging you... Roosters often do that to size
each other up...
You will have to show him you are top roo out there!

I had one that flogged my hand while filling feeder..
I grabbed him up and lightly( and maybe not so lightly) thumped him on his head a few times and yelled loudly.
Scared him so much that he still runs when he sees me.

Several weeks later and I still have a knot on the bone in my hand where his spur went in... Not fun to deal with a mean rooster.... good luck.

He is a salmon favorelle, I really don't think he is challenging me as every week he is caught and blood is drawn from him(he and 6 others are participating in a sentinel program) needless to say he is handled more than the others he will come over to me and I have even petted him and picked him up without much ado. My Jersey boy lets me carry him everywhere and sits by me all the time.
Glad everyone thinks he is so pretty. He has been my fave since he and the others hatched.
