My golden sebright rooster, Elmo, (Yes. From sesame street. 
) "attacked" me today...I was holding him and was pointing to something about his neck feathers and he pecked me. You could tell it wasn't an actual I'm mad at you peck, it was an experimental peck seeing if he could get away with it. He couldn't. I batted him across the head a couple times, threw him on the ground, and chased him around, then stared him down. That makes me sound like a horrible person, but it is either that or the crock pot. (Ha. Bantam Stew for one...) He looked sorry for what he did as he cowered behind his girls...I hope that was what I supposed to do. I have dealt with a attacking rooster before, a big old orpington who scared the eeby-jeebies out of me. He went to the neighbors...Elmo is showing some behaviors of my old, bad rooster, but not all of them. I always have a d'uccle roo-that-was-supposed-to-be-hen to fall back on if I have cull Elmo. Which I don't, but you gotta do you gotta do I guess. We'll see what Elmo does....
