My rooster has a pus pocket in his waddle

I will get a
Pictures and all symptoms would help. He sounds very ill. Is either of his eyes swollen? crusted eyes sound like a respiratory disease, and they sometimes cause swelling the the wattles (fowl cholera, coryza.) A lot depends on if these scabs or the swollen wattle are caused by peck wounds or possibly fowl pox. Is the swollen wattle red or bluish? That is why pictures are important. You should get him drinking fluids with electrolytes and vitamins if you have them. How is he eating and drinking?

I will get some photos tonight and post. I just set up a spot in extra bedroom to bring him inside. I have electrolytes in water and I have seen him eating. Waddle is red except where there are a few black spots

Also his eyes are just a little swollen and crusty in am. I initially was thinking fowl pox, and perhaps he has an abscess? I will get photos shortly

It looks somewhat like fowl pox. Where are you, and do you have mosquitoes out? You can clean off his eyes with saline, and get some Terramycin Eye Ointment or Vetericyn Eye Gel from you feed store to put into the eyes twice a day. There is another ointment called Vetropolycin as well. Here are a couple of articles about pox for you to compare to what you are seeing:

Thank you for articles. We live in western North Carolina, near Asheville. We do get mosquitoes. My initial thought was fowl pox, but the pus is making me wonder. I will read these articles. Thank you!

Normally, we shouldn't disturb scabs of pox, since it can spread the disease, but you may want to try to lance and express some pus from the one scab. Let us know if the pox pictures look like what you see. Also, are any other birds showing scabs?

I will lance them tonight. Some of the pox pics do look like what he has. So far, no one else is showing and scabs.
