My rooster is chasing my chicken from her chicks

Why is my rooster chasing away a mother hen from her chicks. The rooster was fine with the chicks and the mom before but he randomly started chasing her away back towards the flock.

How old are the chicks? Rooster probably wants to mate and she's not letting it happen.
