Well, show us what you’ve made!
I agree! I would love to see!
Last week I decided to make my first big knit project and ordered some yarn from Linde hobby. This was my first ever online yarn order, and also my first time working with wool/alpaca yarn. I'm so surprised that it's REALLY soft. I honestly expected a straw like texture like I felt at some yarn stores. These are softer than acrylic even. I'm so excited to knit a sweater with this!!!!

I knit my husband an alpaca/wool sweater many years ago... the yarn was luscious!

Here are some brioche knit hats I made last year.

It's reversible (but I like ^^this side better):

That is my really warm hat. It's a bit big, so it slides down. If I didn't wear glasses, it would be down on my nose.

So I made a hat a little smaller with less brim in hunting season orange with yellow.

Then it got cold, and I needed my big heavy coat with the big hood. That covered the hat, so I made a scarf. This is also brioche, a pattern called Icicles, from the book Knitting Fresh Brioche, by Nancy Marchant.

By the time I was done with it, I was sick of knitting with orange and yellow. They aren't favorite colors of mine, just used the same colors as the hat.

I knit a plain brioche hat for my neighbor. He's totally bald, and he's been wearing a baseball-style cap. It's the coldest winter we've had in 30 years, and he has on a baseball cap?!?! Charlie!

What is the opposite of a "shout out to" something? The yarn I used for my hunting hat and scarf and for Charlie's hat was el cheapo acrylic from the (miniscule) craft department of our grocery store. Bernat super value acrylic. It feels ok to wear, but it feels like plastic to knit. The yellow of the hat and scarf kept splitting too. I have nice needles with smooth rounded tips, but the yellow just didn't want to play nice. The other colors have been ok.

I need to go to Hobby Lobby, at least! and get some decent wool yarn to knit with. There is also an upscale (up-up-up scale) yarn shop I could visit, but I'd walk out of there having spent $80-100 I'm sure.

My sweater has dried, but now it smells a bit... Musty. Maybe it was the mat that trapped too much moisture. I'm not sure what to do other than wash it, but if I understand correctly, washing machines and dryers damage crochet. So does that mean all I can do to wash it is just do the whole blocking process again with soap? Will that still stink?
I haven't made crochet/knit clothing in a long time, I work on tapestry afghans now. When I did clothing, for my children, I would toss the finished project in the washer by itself. Then I put it in the dryer with a few clean/dry towels. I never have blocked anything I have made. I figured I made the clothing for rough and tumble farm kids, it better hold up in the washer&dryer first.

That’s going to be so pretty!

Would that be Meijer? Some of the Meijers around here have abbreviated yarn sections, and some of them have a lot more shelf space for yarn. They all have Bernat Super Value.
