My rooster is... Humping the ground

So my rooster, who is about a year old now, has started doing this thing where he picks up a feather lying around and he then humps the ground with it in his mouth. He is going away soon anyways unfortunately but I'm just curious if something is wrong or if this is normal.

I have seen roosters try to breed a rock if there were no hens available. Testosterone is to blame.

I too have seen mine hump, but it was like playing in an air guitar contest, there was nothing to hump, he won first place that year. Sorry

He was a teenager, without a girlfriend, so I am thankful I have no real teenage boys, just roosters.
