Hello
I have a silkie rooster and he is over mating one hens. They all grew up from days old with each other and are about a little over a year old is there a way to stop this or will he grow out of it or should I get rid of him? Also wondering if anyone has tried a back protector for there hens?

I have one young cockerel that is doing that and one Isbar rooster -- they are going to be living by themselves in different pens for awhile.

I'm having the same problem, my Silkie rooster is non stop, he's even trying to mate while she's laying, my other hen is terrified of him...he's gorgeous, but I don't like his attitude at all..We already had a come to Jesus Meeting...got my doubts about him, my hens have got to be happy...

Stress in hens is never good.
If your rooster is a youngster (cockerel) separate him from the ladies and let him mature more.

Since you don't like his attitude at all - it may be better to re-home him or invite him to dinner;)
