My roo has started biting the comb of his hens and holding them down, he'16-17 weeks old and I figure he's coming into adulthood and getting ready to start breeding.

Whattya think?

Sounds to me like he's practicing his mating skills. No worries. The pullets scream blue bloody murder at first, but once they are also mature and ready to lay eggs they'll be more cooperative.

A rooster can breed any hen he can get to hold still long enough. To a roo, size does not matter.

That's exactly what the hens are doing, man they can squawk when he gets a hold of them!
