@Pastel the Rooster I agree about treating for coccidiosis as soon as you're able to, but at that age the "honking" you mentioned the d'Uccle has recently started doing is probably totally normal. It's a phase they go through before they get their grown-up chicken voices. Some are more honky than others.

I looked up the breed of chickens that they might be. I found “black, copper morons” Maybe it’s “Marans”
Not with blue legs. Build wise, I see game...wonder if there's some Phoenix (do have blue legs) in them or if there's a game variant with blue legs

BCM's have feathered legs... & if they lay a very deep brown egg then you'll know whether they are BCM's😉

GeThered legs depends upon the lineage. French lines have the foot feathers. British lines don't. They're usually listed with French omitted.

My only problem with that is the banana paste says it’s expired. Mom said medicine can sometimes be used after its expiration date, but when we looked it up, it said it’s better to not use this. I’m not sure if she already threw it away or not.
All this stuff is stressing me out. They wouldn’t have gotten sick if my ag teacher had let me move them into the coop where her chickens were a few weeks ago. But no, instead they had to be stuck in a tiny coop with their own crap as bedding practically.
I don’t want to blame her, but my friend and I had talked to her about this sorta stuff multiple times and she did nothing.
I’m bringing the banana paste to school to give to Taffy. Tomorrow I’ll put Corid in their water and stop giving the banana paste.

Gosh I have always loved her look. How are you treating the flare up?
Terramycin antibiotic ointment in the eyes, once a day for seven days. This and including meloxicam for swelling was the vet plan last July when she had a bad flare up and one eyelid was swelling too, the vet thought that and the flare up was due to dust irritation and then particulate matter caught in there. No swelling this time, and I’m not sure of the cause for the flare-up, it’s not real dusty in their run or coop.

I did just one apparently pretty bubbly eye the first day, then her other eye was really foamy the next day, so I’m doing both eyes.

Hmmm the date on that bottle pictured is July 2 2024. So...that doesn't seem that old. My opinion is I'd use it, rather than wait until Friday late in the day, because it's not that old and I think it will likely help. Coccidiosis can kill young chicks fast, maybe not so fast with 12 week old pullets? Did your friend notice the poops were bloody for a few days?

Blue legs!
Yeah, Mom and I decided to bring it to school, so I’ll probably give her that at around 7 this morning (one hour my time) or I’ll give it to her around 11 today.
No, she just noticed it yesterday and pointed it out.

@Pastel the Rooster Also, have they been on medicated feed during this time? Possibly that wouldn't fend off a heavy infestation/ingestion of tons of cysts, I don't know. But generally it helps them fight it off well enough until they build their own resistance.
My point is maybe it's not coccidiosis. But treating for that right now won't hurt them.
That’s all we’ve fed them. They are still on medicated feed.
What else could be? I think that there’s a vet around here that I could talk them to, but I feel like I’m on crunched time.

This would work but @Pastel the Rooster can't get to the chicken until Friday anyway. Might as well go with new corid.
I can get to her, I just won’t be able to get her Corid. I’m going to do what CB said, and then on Friday I will give her and everyone else fresh Corid.

Thank you! I’ll keep an eye on her just to be sure. None of my chooks have ever done that, including my d’Uccle that I have at home, so I was worried.
