For those of you that have helped me along my journey with my foundling rooster Pepper I thank you.
I still have about a week left until the deadline to rehome our little guy comes to an end.
I talked to a lot of people and went to a home in my city who were willing to take them in.
And I did, finally, go talk to 2 of my backyard neighbors about his crowing. The weekends were the worst for them.
Ultimately I decided a rooster sanctuary about 1.5 hrs from my home would be best. I can visit if I want too!! The director is sending someone this afternoon to pick them up. I've talked to her extensively and she sent me pictures of where he and Rosie will live. It's called The Island of Misfit Boys. I just LOVE that!
Rosie is the Aracana hen we got 2 days after we found Pepper so he'd have a friend. We are sending her with him. They are always together and sleep together so we didn't want him to go this alone.
Anyway thanks again! I still have 4 hens from 9 weeks to 15 weeks so I know I'll sharing or asking questions about them.

Good for you to send a friend with him. Hopefully the sanctuary is not dogmatic (at this stage it does not sound to be).
Pepper and Rosie went to the rooster sanctuary on Monday night and as of yesterday they are doing great in quarantine. They will go into the community flock together as long as Pepper gets along with the other roosters.
We really miss him here and my remaining 4 hens, well at least the 2 older ones, at 14 weeks, seem a bit lost without his direction and leadership. Im hoping Cookie, the Barred Rock, will step up and take care of the 3 younger ones. She has come across as somewhat bossy at times even when Pepper was here.
I actually had a tattoo done last night of Pepper. It isn't totally done yet....it will be in a couple months. But here is the picture of Pepper I used, on the left and what has been done so far...on the right. It looks just like him!!
(I have endangered animals tattooed on both arms)

Hi Granny, it's great you were able to find them a safe forever home! I can empathize with the struggle, as I've become attached to more than one rooster over the course of my life.

After coming across your post, I tried searching Google for The Island of Misfit Boys and couldn't seem to find it. Do you have their contact info? Would you mind sharing it? I have a friend with a similar problem. He's also in So. California. Thank you so much! :)

Look on FB. Find Alexandra Supertramp. It lists her as the CEO for the rescue. I don't know if she's registered it or ?.
Her phone number is 805 8275992. Her name is Jen.
