my rooster pulling feathers out of the hens

I have a white leghorn rooster and a variety of hens. With the bo and rir hens he is great. Plus the speckled feather footed breed so 6 hens no problem but have 4 black hens same size as others and he has started to peck them running them away from food pulling out feathers and chasing them around the coop. I have seen him mate with them but one she will squat down and he is just mean to her I don't know what to do. I have 8 white leghorn chicks 9 weeks old is this normal of them. Please help. I am still fairly new to all this

He sounds like a bully. There are lots of roo's out there that treat his girls well. If I had a rooster who was behaving in that fashion, it would be freezer camp.

I am thinking the same but confused this is just starting up all winter he was great along come nice weather and he turns like this

If mine did that...bye bye! Would not put up with a brute rooster.

Since I let them free range a lot I really want a good rooster please any suggestions on breed and where to get one or should I wait let the babies grow up and
