He's not hurting her now...I have him separated and they free range.Whatever floats your boat! I personally wouldn’t let a hen be tortured. I guess time will tell if he will settle down, good luck!

He was injuring them with his spurs but I de-spurred him and the spurs seem better for the other hens, although one hen is bareback. But after he mated one today, he flew at the other feet first, she was in submissive position but then ran as he started attacking her.If he is doing the above,it’s only natural for a rooster to chase and grab hens,if he isn’t causing any blood she’d he is fine.
I know you don't want to, but if he's mistreating your hens he probably needs to go. At the very least I would keep him separated from them. You could maybe try again when the other six are adults, but I would make sure they're mature and ready to be mated before you try to re-introduce him. 9-1 is a much better ratio than 3-1, that may help some.
