My Rooster SAT on My Hen

Here you go.
The rooster is called Notch and underneath him is a hen called Fray.
They had been looking for a nest site most of the morning and tried to use a coop from another group. The senior hen from that group drove Fray out of the coop. She didn't have time to find another suitable site and called for Notch, her rooster. This is where they settled. She layed her egg there.
It's a bit of a pointless upload because you can't see the hen Fray. However, she's under there.

Thank you! That was helpful!!

I was not there to observe so I'm not sure what happened. Chicken society can be pretty complex but as long as no one is seriously injured I tend to let them be chickens and work it out themselves.
This. Very much this. I don't know how to be a chicken or understand their society. If no one is getting injured, I let them be.

We are thinking that you are all right because when we went in there today the same thing happened but at first they were mating and then he just sat on her for a bit once they were done. We think that they were snuggling or that is what we are saying!
