my rooster sings along with the ladies

my rooster sings along with the hens when their laying. i have 6hens and he does it to all of them. So its double the sound. Louder than a car alarm. Is there a reason to why his doing this. Is it normal

Yes, it's normal. He is letting them know where the flock is.


The alarm call also sounds similar to the egg song, but is more intense. That means danger.

Could it be it was that loud because i was watching. Hmmm because she was unfortunately because i was there.

Scared the crap out of me the first time I heard this incredibly loud cacophony of noise coming from the coop the first or second day I had them, I went tearing down there thinking for sure something was killing my new chickens, only to see the rooster standing on the roost board ripping off that bok-bok-bok-baGAWWW over and over and most the hens were chiming in with their versions as well
