Gotta love them buffs! I wish you luck but be careful some boys are a little eager! You might want to stock up on some saddles in advance.

My rooster is doing the same thing.. I put in two smaller boxes and raised them off the ground yesterday in hopes of getting him to stop... but he's in one again today!

he is a beautiful boy! and he is huge!!! how big are buff orp hens? it looks like he could squish hens...poor things!

You haven't lived till you've seen a 14 lb rooster cram himself into a 1' square nestbox. Suede does it all the time. I can't see how he does not get stuck!

Her sister stalks them like something out of National Geographic, but this one (Twinkletoes) doesn't exhibit hunting behavior at all with them (even though she kills her fair share of rodents). They've been loose in my yard and she's right in the midle of them, looking at whatever they're looking at, sitting and sometimes flopped down on the ground with them, She just loves to be in the coop with them, hanging out. It's really cute to watch.
Her sister on the other hand has a spray bottle with her name on it.

Our rooster does this too, he is a big old Dominque(sp). I thinks its funny to watch him. I always ask him if he has layed any eggs.
He's trying to set up home and talk his hens into joining him. he wants to have babies!
