hi! My chickens are 2 months old, And I've noticed this a while ago but didn't think it was that bad and now I'm wondering why it's like that. But yah, his comb is good-sized for 2 months and it falls over like on his head and itsnt strong or anything. I don't know why it does this?? Also, the girls, theirs are really tiny but a little falling over too!

Let me know if you have any ideas what it is or to fix it!
Thanks!

What breed are they? It can be a genetic thing (i.e. Leghorns are commonly known for having large/floppy combs as are some other breeds) or it could be a sign of their health not being well (which if that is the case, I'd expect their faces to be pale instead of the bright red you want to see). What might their droppings look like? Healthy or is something a little off? That along with the way the birds feels in the hand and how they act are all indications to a birds health.

God bless,
Daniel.

There are other breeds/hybrids who's combs will flop over too. Usually any leghorn mix will have a floppy comb & rocks can have floppy combs too. Can't remember off the top of my head if there are others. I would just check to make sure the bird is not skinny or sickly & go from there. Some combs are just floppy.

Thanks! He's like a barred rock mix ( they just call them 'blacks' where I got him from), but I'm guessing it's natural and we have some leghorns and rhode island reds to. So it's probably normal, but I'll keep an eye on them! Thanks!
