My roosters have red feet!!

Hi,
I just recently was watching my chickens run around, and saw that both of my rooster's feet are bright red and are limping... they are free run chickens and I have a patch of concrete in the back where they run around. I don't know if that has something to do with it. Please help!!

by the way one rooster is a bantom and the other is a buff.

Red color on a roosters feet/legs can be hormones.

But because you mention limping, check the feet out for abrasions or swelling. Be sure to look at both the top and bottom. And yes concrete may contribute.

Thanks. I was watching them closer today and the only one that does it is the buff roo. Do you think its because of how big he is? I looked at those bumblefoot pics and they dont have that.

I don't think size has a lot to do with redness.

I have a Buff Orpington cockeral right now. Just started practicing his crow. His legs/feet are incredibly red/pink and shiny.

Is he still limping? Maybe just sore from jumping down from the roost.
