My Runners aren't very.. runner-y.

The "Bali" duck is basically a crested Runner. The reason the ducks in question are not very runner-y is their leg location. The runner leg is located more toward the rear of the duck causing them to stand more upright in order to balance. This leg location is why they don't waddle like most ducks and tend to run more like a human when they do move. The ducks in the picture have classic runner head shapes but too much of the body behind the legs to be true runners, their butts would be on the ground if they stood upright like runners will.

( no offense meant in the following text - simply a joke)

...Your ducks look to fat to be runners.... are you preparing them for something???

My GM was intrigues with your ducks while I was on here, so I had to google runners for her. and... well your ducks just seem very heavy. I would have never thought runner if you hadnt said they were. Runner cross maybe, but not pure runner.

I see Runner influence in the shape of their heads and the length of their necks and bodies.

Exactly.

The white duck in these photos is also a runner. She looks less "runner-ish" than your ducks, but she lays eggs like a runner. That's all that I care abut

I am hatching runner eggs from Metzer Farms.... I'm hoping they are runner--y. I just assumed they would be. Your ducks are very beautiful .. runnery-y or not. : )

Oh it is good to hear that some upright ones come from there. They are supposed to hatch around the 29th of July - If all goes well. I will post pictures when they hatch. I have 4 fawn/white eggs, and 4 black eggs. I can't wait!!! I candled at 13 days and everything looked good with the exception of a few detached air cells. I am trying not to candle any more. I am trying so hard to just leave them alone.
