So it seems like my second bantam roo got kicked out of the flock today! We were out of town for the day so they didn't get to free range all day, they have been sneaking away and hiding, but have a small run so they can get outside. But he just seems sad and lonely everytime I look he is all by himself and this just started today! Is this normal they at about 15-16 weeks old. I'm sad for him he just looks so pitiful. Please any answers would be great

How many pullets do you have? How many cockerels?
I have 2 bantam barnyard mix cockerels and 8 pullets 3 barred 2 orps 1 jersey giant(oops wasn't supposed to be) and 2 bantam barnyard mix. They really have been fine until today maybe to close for too long? They have plenty of room so I'm not sure. Maybe it's like having 2 preteens in the house they really dislike being together lol

Do you notice any of the other chickens chasing him?

Nope not all. The cockerels get along great have never fought. The each seem to have their own 4 girls. Maybe he was keeping watch while the others were eating? I'm not sure very new to this. Both boys get along amazingly have been together since hatching(got from the same farm) I had 3 others that I re-homed that fought like crazy all the time. Could it be that the hens are getting crabby? I think they are getting closer to laying. They have been nesting and squatting also they have practiced there song a little.

If the other cockerel isn't bullying him it's probably the pullets. I would watch and see if any of the pullets try to beat him up.
