my serama pullet layed her first egg yesterday! last week she weighed 17.49 oz, yesterday after her first egg she weighed 20.50 oz (empty crop). does this mean another egg today!?!?!?!?! this serama hen layed at 4 and a quarter month old, 2 months before her parents did (i never use any kind of hormones) ( and her parents are smaller than her). not only that! my only rooster i have is 3 months old and hasn't even started clucking yet! the egg had a bullseye! it was fertile! so to you guys think i will be getting another egg today???? the roo is a Bantam Lavender Americauna, and the hen is a Clack with some gold Serama.

I took this pic 2 week ago... you can see the growth in her comb!

Congrats on your hens first egg. Great job on the weights of the birds.

My GUESS is no. I think 17 weeks is early for a serama to start laying. I would guess she will be inconsistent at best to start off with. Not probable but possible. Let us know. Love her nest pot.

Wish ya the best.
