I have an 8x8 shed with a square cut outta the back for a box fan and then when the chicks get bigger I put a steel frame in where to doors go so they have plenty ventalation. I have done this for 7 years now and works great will get more pics soon they didnt upload

ventilation is my challenge. i too cut a hole in the wall & installed a fan. i put a fan on the other side pulling air out. my birds have a hard time in the heat. it's better during the day for them because i have a lot of shade & i run a mister in the afternoon. they all hang out under the mister in the shade during the worst of the day, but the coop at night is pretty tough. the way mine is built, i don't see any other ways to ventilate.
i hope they can survive the summer.
i was reading an article this afternoon that listed chickens, their egg/meat abilities, their temperment, and their climate strengths. ALL of the heat tolerant birds were "excitable". blast it.

I have mine in a 8x8 tractor. I think our heat is going to be very muggy this year. By the way you are not to far from me, I'm in West Salem.

I've got a mister and shade cloth for outside and I'm thinking about a micro sprinkler over the metal roof on hot days.
That might help keep things cooler inside for a more comfortable sleep at night.

mine are getting ready to be dragged out closer to the woods so they have shade, needless to say they are too close to the house, and summer is about to begin with bang of heat. I hate hot weather. Got to work in a hot warehouse then come home and work in the heat
