My Silkie Has extra toes!

ok I have a buff silkie that I got from an auction 2 weeks ago. and I just noticed she has an extra "little toe" you know the one at the top the small one? well she has an extra one in each foot. she looks and acts fine. its so weird..... she is sweet though. should I let her breed? she is currently alone now.

I have a little one week old Silkie with 6 toes on each foot also. Looks kind of creepy, but she doesn't seem to mind lol.

how many "big" toes? and how many "small" toes??

I have a pretty black showgirl that has 6 toes. The 6th toe branches from the 5th toe, like a twig on a tree branch.

Here's an example of 5 toes, although a silke needs a lot more foot feathering than that.

in the pic the two little toes are like webbed, my silkie's is not webbed. and she only has 5 toes on each foot.

Any more or less than 5 toes on a silkie is a DQ. Unless the bird is excellent in every other aspect, it should not be bred if you're breeding toward the standard.

The sixth toe is creepy? I think the fifth toe is creepy! Lol. But, everything else about them makes it worth the extra weird toe.
