I don't know what is going on but my silkie hen is acting weird.
She is about a year old. Also she is in her own coop alone. Also she is old enough to lay an egg and has NEVER layed an egg.

I have had her since september and she has never acted like this. Tonight I went down to do the regular stuff at the chickens. I opened up her cage and she walked toward the other door in her little coop and she like pushed herself against the door, she seemed like her leg hurt or something, maybe? My dad picked her up and she made a little noise (she's not that talkative anyways). We put her in her nesting box and she just sat there and was breathing heavily.

My dad installed a little light in her coop, and we made sure she drank water. Is there something wrong with her? Could she be possibly getting ready to lay an egg??

Thanks~

She could be getting ready to lay an egg, but her leg might be broken..(?) I'm not sure though. Are you absolutely sure she has never laid an egg?

yes I am positive she has never ever laid an egg. I was thinking the same thing about her maybe haveing a broken leg, but how would I tell if she broke her leg?
I went out to the chicken coop about an hour ago and she was still acting weird, she was kind of stumbling, and couldn't walk very well. She is a silkie and I am not sure she can see very well, so tonight we are going to trim her crest around her eyes so she can see better.

Thanks~

I once had this problem and your description of her stumbling around sounds like what my hen had been doing. It eventually fixed itself, so I would keep a good eye on her, make sure she is eating and drinking enough, etc. Good luck!!
