My silkie is crowing!

My silkie started crowing this morning!

I went out To give them some more feed and he crowed (if you can call it that lol) and started flapping his wings. Each time I tried to get inside the pen he did it again. When I went away he stopped! Is he going to be aggressive?? I was scared I had to get my DH to do it for me...

He may become aggressive, but now is the perfect time to subordinate him. Get a short handled fishing net, and if he acts up just scoop him up and carry him around in the net. He should soon get the idea who is the boss. Remember, you are bigger than him.

I agree with above post. you need not fear him. while he's still very young show him who is the boss. I've had very sweet roosters at his age and aggressive ones you can usually tell the aggressive ones because they usually will actually charge at you or bite you. that's what mine stated doing very young. sadly I had to re home both the sweet one and the aggressive one. but you can usually tell at a fairly young age. you do need to show him your the boss while he's small. I doubt he's that aggressive because he isn't charging and biting you. but make sure he knows your boss. I wish you luck. hope everything turns out well.

Ok thanks perhaps I am just a woos then. This is our first rooster so I'm not really sure what to expect.

You're right about not showing fear when my DH went it he didn't make a peep!

yes . now if he starts to charge you that's different and he's defiantly aggressive. my little rascle at about that age was charging and actually biting me! he has a new home.he was a silkie also. just make sure he does not start that! watch him and don't let him get over on you. while he's young carry him around pet him teach him your head rooster and the boss! if his behavior becomes aggressive like charging and biting you might consider re homing him.but he's probably just testing you right now. nows the time to train him.
