Thanks . I candled the eggs to find the new addition and one was different than the rest. So I cracked it and found that I was right. It was laid today. It was a egg from my d’uccle..that sneaky girl. Two of the eggs are pretty dark inside. One is slightly darker than the other. It might be that the egg is smaller..very difficult to see inside. I think it’s also from my d’uccle.
So a Silkie/d’uccle will be an interesting cross.
Cotton is being very tolerant about me lifting her off the nest and putting her on then coop floor while I looked at the eggs. She just sat there like she was sitting eggs and just made grumpy sounds at me when I put her back on. She’s going to be a good mommy .
I would say that the darker two were from the same day and one from the second day. Then I mistakenly added the two extra . So if two chicks hatch and I take them from her will she continue to sit on the rest? If so can I put them back with her after the others hatch?
Oh and I learned my lesson and marked the eggs
