I have been waiting TWO YEARS for a broody hen! My Silkie girl finally did it! WOOOOT! It is so cute. At first she couldn't figure out how to get the eggs under her- there were two eggs (I left them in there b/c I thought she was starting to go broody) both in random places in the pin- they were rolled out of the nesting spot. I put them under her and she got all excited, this was two days ago and she hasn't moved since. I added two (hopefully fertile) Exchequer Leghorn eggs. All four of the eggs she is sitting on were pretty cold to start with so I am afraid they will not be viable.
