I recently bought this little Silkie (taco) she is only maybe 2 weeks younger than my other chickens and I didn't have a separate cage to introduce her to them so I did the over night method, first night was fine, next morning some minor pecking but nothing too bad. It's day 4 now and for the most part they leave her alone, but she won't follow the group.
She eats with them in the run then I open the door and they all run out into the yard but she stays in the run. I know she can see, I cut her crest into a mohawk and she reacts when I walk up but why won't she follow my girls? They come visit her throughout the day when they wanna go in the coop or eat or explore the run but as soon as they leave she just stays there. She also hasn't seemed to have figured out how to get up the ladder into the coop yet, or down the ladder out of the coop. I have to place her in and out every time but I know she watches the others do it just fine. Will this be an issue fixed with time and age, have they not fully accepted her yet? She never cries or anything when alone she seems ok but I would rather her stay with the rooster for safety....is there anything I can do that will make her follow the group or should I just wait it out?
