I’m Nancy from Georgia and I have wanted chickens for a long time but actually got my first ones July 2022. I also got hit with chicken math from the start. I went to buy 4 chicks but came home with 8 then I added 4 that were supposed to be laying, but werent so I added 4 more that were laying and I thought I was finished but I walked in TSC on chick day and bought 4 more giving me a total of 20. Ah, Nancy, yours is a story too familiar to many of us! Although, I must say, your initial chicken math was more advanced than mine. I wanted three and came home with four. But that was many, many chickens ago -- and I added ducks and geese, too.
