my smelly eggs

I have four hens and of most recently I have noticed my eggs smelling bad and black in colour why is this happening can someone offer any advice please ?

Are you not gathering them daily? Are they left out in a hot place to rot? Eggs go bad if they are not properly stored

I am doing what I should be doing I have since found out it can be caused if they eat a slug / snail ??

Well, maybe some particular type of slug or snail, I
Suppose...
Ours eat small slugs andgarden snailsfrequently, and ihave neverhad any off color or smelly eggs.
Are they back to normal now?
And, did you mean the shell, or inside?
